Currently, the U.S. Department of Energy estimates the median rage for a 2018 purely-electric vehicle is 125 miles. It’s an improvement of about 73 miles from 2011 models, but not enough to keep owners from complaining.

Construction for new charging stations is set to begin and is expected to take two months per work-site. Works is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

Florida will now be adding at least seven of the Florida Turnpike’s eight service plazas with fast-charging and Tesla charging stations. Currently owners of electric cars are limited as to how far they can travel on Florida’s Turnpikes due to the lack of charging stations. Currently there are only three charging units for cars on Florida’s Turnpikes.
